Final game of season for JV Mesa Jackrabbits

The Mesa High School junior varsity football team played its final game of the season Thursday October 26 against Mountain View High School.

The Mesa Jackrabbits lost to the Mountain View Toros 41-6. Mesa finished their season only 3-7.

Fans were in attendance to cheer on the JV football players. Mesa High cheerleaders donned the school colors of purple and yellow. Following the game, despite the tough loss, the players joined together with the cheerleaders and students in the audience to sing the school song.

Spencer Rickerstein, the first-year head coach of the JV team, said that the team struggled with injuries throughout the season, which led to several adjustments. He did feel that the running backs played well in the final game of the season.

Arturo Grajeda, a team captain and running back, said that the guys need to work to player better as a team next year. Sometimes players wanted to do their own thing, he said, and that conflicted with how they played together.
